Drago!

Here is Drago, the monstrous, red, killing machine in all his finished glory!

Super glad to finally be striking this commission off of my to do list. I'm glad I got started on him since it gave the motivation I needed to bust out my airbrush. Really didn't want to paint and highlight all that red armor with a brush.

Let me know what you think, and thanks for looking!

On the Bench: Malifaux and Khador

Been making a bit of progress here and there on a few figs lately.
Once I get these first two ladies finished, I'll have made a sizable dent in my Outcasts crew. Hope to have them all finished by mid March at the latest, so I can play fully painted a an upcoming tourney.

All the pics are a touch washed out do to the direct light from my painting lamp. I'll take proper pics when they are all finished.

Next up is a Drago commission that has been sitting as black primer way too long. I'm just slingin paint as fast as I can on this one to help clear out my backlog. His armor was my first crack at using an airbrush......I like how it turned out okay, but I will be less conservative with my highlight mixing next time. It was made fairly obvious to me that big step ups in color are required to get the desired look.

On the Bench: Super Dungeon Explore and Warmachine

Just a few quick WIP's of what I worked on over the last week.

First up is the new Hero/ mini boss for Super dungeon explore, Ser Snapjaw(Kobold Exemplar).
Decide I wanted this guy to stand out on the game board for some reason. I have really been having a good time working on him.
I painted his helmet in a moment of delusional freehand craziness and almost gave up about half way through. I'm glad I pushed on as I am pleased with the result.

Here he is so far.

Shield.
 And the Helmet.

And now quick shot of Strakhov I am painting for a friend. Not having a good time with this one. Just gotta make it through and get him off my table soon.

Extreme Beast 09

Got this bad boy finished up as a last leg of one commission. Once I actually started, I had a lot of fun working on him.
I went against the standard white and red scheme just to make him seem a little different.
The battle damage on this guy was an experiment and I like how it turned out personally.
Next time I will be less reserved and really lay down some dings and dents.
Hopefully this will be my last extreme sculpt for a while, not sure how many more of those I can handle.

Extreme Ivan!

Well, after paint night, I powered through and got this big bugger finished. Really had a good time painting him, that is.....after my fingers un-kinked from their seemingly permanent, claw like position!
This is another commission to go with all the other Khador stuff I've been doing.
I think its pretty fitting to have Ivan based on an Extreme jack chassis, as it makes him very imposing.
When he was finished I sat him on the shelf next to the rest of my own Khadorans, and he made them look pretty small and pitiful. :(
Now Ive just got to make it through extreme Beast 09, and this part of the commission will be completed.

Weekend WIP's

Well, I found a few more minutes this weekend to put some paint on a few figs.
Black Ivan and Janissa are both commissions for locals. This is the first Troll I've ever worked on (barring Boomhowler that is) and so far it has been pretty enjoyable. All the large, exaggerated features really make painting a breeze.
The owner of the figure asked for an orangey-brown skin tone along with purple cloth as the base colors. Hopefully she is looking Orange enough.
Black Ivan is just base coats for now, but by the end he will be severely beat up and battle damaged. Oh, and if you couldn't tell....yup, he's an extreme jack. Oh, the hand cramps in store for me. :(

I also busted out my alt Stryker fig to work on. I'm finding it very difficult since he is primed black, but I did add a few glazes here and there and get some paint on that wild hair!
He was one of the few dozen figs that I had already primed when I decided to make the transition from black to white primer.
Most of those figs are sitting in partially finished states as I really just dont enjoy painting over black any longer.
I know i could strip all of them back to bare metal, and I probably will someday, but that never seems to be top priority when I find some hobby time.

Thanks for lookin!

The Butcher of Khardov

Finished this up as another piece for that never ending commission to go along with the Gun Carriage.
Tried a little different technique for the rust spots on his armor which ended up being very similar to how I do my silos.
Decided to add some blood to the axe and ground as a bit of an afterthought, I mean, what kind of Butcher would he be if he were wasn't covered in blood?
As a side note, I must say that this figure is a great sculpt! Very crisp details. Was a real joy to paint.
I'll have to grab one for myself and give my old, Original Butcher a break from the field.

Khadoran Gun Carriage

This thing has been sitting as a WIP for and age now. I started pretty gung ho on it, but once I got into the grueling little details and such, I lost my will to paint at all. Which is really not a good thing seeing as this was a commission piece.  The actual assembly and conversion of the piece was done by the owner. the Warjacks replacing the horses was a really cool idea in my opinion, but it definitely made the painting take longer than it otherwise would have.
Well, its all finished up now and I can say that I'm happy with the results.
I wanted to go for a totally messy war-torn scene, where the battlefield has been churned into a snowy, muddy muck.

Thanks for checking it out. Let me know what you think.

Memory lane: Old witch and Scrapjack

Way back in MK1 the Old Witch was probably my second favorite caster to run(right behind the Butcher of course) I didn't win a whole lot with her, but I loved her sneaky tricks and very different play style from the other casters , and honestly, who doesn't love an Arc Node for Kahdor!?
I don't get near as much time to game nowadays as I would like, so Zevhanna has been collecting dust for quite some time.
I thought I would go ahead and dust them off for this installment of Memory lane, and give you all a gander at them.

Extreme Juggernaut.

Got the final touches done on this guy, finally. These bigger models are a lot more time consuming to paint but they are pretty enjoyable, and far less taxing in the eye strain department.  I'm pretty pleased with how the basing ended up. Thanks for looking.

On the Bench

I noticed I have a bunch of work in progress figs at the moment, so I thought it high time I show some behind the scenes progress. Hopefully everything here will be done soon, as it mostly part of a forum painting vow for July.

The Organist of Mid-nor will be the first down followed (hopefully) by the extreme Juggernaut

For Khador!

Finished these up for a local commission. They are part of a larger force that will get basically the same paint treatment. I tried a few different battle damaging techniques on these guys, perhaps some of you have seen the salt and spray. Well, I tried it and I'm still a bit iffy on it. I really thought the process would be easier, but I had a hell of a time getting the wet rock salt to stick to the figs, maybe there is a better way to do it but I couldnt figure it out. So, they are not quite as beat up as I would like but all in all I like how they turned out.

I do believe that once I get back to painting my own Khador again, my Demo Corps will get this same (or very nearly) paintjob.
