Memory lane: Cygnarans

Well, these guys go way on back to when I was first getting into Warmachine. Cygnar is probably my least favorite faction to game with but I really enjoy painting them. The Journeyman was a mainstay for my little force so, he was one of the very first to see paint. I was rather proud of his weapon at the time. (still kinda dig it)
I also had great ambitions to have an entire trencher force on the table, and this chaingunner, weapon crew was the very beginning of that.

Unfortunately, that project never really took flight, and I really only have a small handful of Cygnar stuff finished. I'm sure I will get back to it someday.....along with all the other projects rolling around in this head of mine.

Thanks for taking a look.

Dark Age: Warhead

In the continuing effort to finish up my demo forces I went ahead and bombed my way through this dude.
I really like painting these bigger scaled mutants from the Skaard faction, they really give lots of room to practice lots of different techniques.

I decided to throw some nasty, bloody spots on this guy for the cool mini or not contest. I dont expect to win, but I can say I at leas entered.

Here's a link if you feel like throwing me a vote ;)   VOTE

And, just for the fun of it, here is a pic of all the Dark Age stuff I've finished thus far (from both of my factions). One big happy family......that may just kill each other.

Dark Age: Banes and Junker complete

Finally found 5 minutes of free time to wrap these guys up. I really enjoyed painting these banes, they are pretty good sculpts for being so old.

The Junker was a little more frustrating to paint, only because she is a much smaller figure than the other Dark Age stuff I've been doing.
I just have to finish off the Reaver/Hepzibah figure and one of my 400 point Demo groups will be complete. She just so happens to be even smaller though, so, I'm not looking forward to that one as much.

Hopefully once i start demoing with fully painted forces it will snag more peoples attention and we can really generate a good following for the game.

Randomness: Dust tactics

I have been thinking heavily on painting my Dust tactics stuff, which will be stand ins for an American army in Secrets of the third Reich, and I finally had an idea strike while I was watching the movie Shooter.

When they are self camouflaging  their rifles with ferns and spray paint, I thought "I should try that on something" and Bam! What better thing to try on than a big old ww2 tank/mech?

I have quite the collection of plastic plants that I adorn bases and terrain with, so sacrificing a bit of fake fern for the project wasnt too bad. Since these figs start out green, I went ahead and grabbed my White spray and the fake foliage, laid it out in random spots, sprayed the white directly over the top and continued across most of the model until I was satisfied with the look of it.
On the next walker I do, I think I'll hold the plastic fern a little closer to get the pattern a little more defined.

After the spray dried I started adding rusty damage spots with a spare piece of torn blister foam. I tried to keep most of the wear on the edges of things to help simulate heavy use. So, this is where it stands for now. I plan to do a bit more weathering and some blast marks on the guns, followed by a whole slew of ww2 decals from an old P-51 model kit.

Eiryss Alternate Sculpt.

Painted this little chicka up as a commission, and I don't think I will ever be painting one again.
Its a freakin cool model, but just way too detail ridden to keep clean at all. Just the amount of belts on her is enough to make you want to yank your hair out (good thing I have none)

I had originally tried to do the cloak in a very pale, baby blue, but just couldn't get it looking right at all. So, brown it became. The darker hue at the bottom of her cloak is supposed to make it look wet and saturated from the melting snow.
Let me know if I pulled it off ok.

Thanks for looking.
