Whats in the pipe?

Just thought I would show you guys a little update about what I hope to get started on over the winter months.

Of course, I will always have my standby figs that I work on. Which for the foreseeable future will be Wrath of Kings stuff. My group is also heavily contemplating getting into Guildball. Those figs are freakin sweet, we just need to find a good place to get them as we like to shop local first, if at all possible.

Now! On to the potential Queue. In no particular order.

First off would be the awesomeness that is DUST. I finally broke down and bought myself one of the heavy tanks. At first I really wanted the LongTom/ Mobile HQ. But the Bulldog was on sale for a screaming deal, so I got that instead.

I plan to do a bit of masking and striping on the hull, and then weather it up nice and rusty like the rest of my DUST allies.
Should be a fun and quick project.

I bought my first Bones figure to try out as well. I cant believe how bendy they are. I will be surprised if paint will stick at all! Will still try it once though.

For this next project, I will be going totally against the grain that is the norm for me.

Historical figures have always been on my Radar. I love the thought of massive battles, with rank upon rank of troops resplendent in their bright colors, with banners waving among the units.

To that end, I have gotten myself some figs to go in an English Civil war army. Specifically for the Parliaments forces. I had my mind made up to start a Royalist army, but I changed that mid purchase due to the awesome helmets the Parliamentarian forces wear.

A unit of 12 cavalry will be my start on this HUGE project.

Following that will be lots and lots of Malifaux. I bought in heavy and really love the figs. The game is a freakin blast as well, if not a touch complicated. I do hate to assemble the figs however. If you haven't had the displeasure of this experience before, watch out!

The figs are so tiny, and cut up into a million and a half different pieces. Some things such as beards and necklaces are separate pieces, requiring almost surgeon like steadiness to place properly!
I will persevere and see these on the paint bench soon!

The next thing is something I bought on Impulse. I have been a little jaded on Infinity since the move to 3rd edition and the complete re-sculpt of my army. It felt like a very GW thing to do and I haven't  really touched the game since.
My local shop got a bunch of the new starters in, and I got to see some of the new Morats first hand. They were really too cool looking to pass on......
So, I plan to get these assembled and perhaps that will rekindle the fire to learn the new edition and jump back into the game.

Here is what I have just primed up to start working on. The Wrath of Kings figs will see paint first, and then if I still feel like it, I'll move onto Jake Williams from Wil West Exodus.

Infinity: Sogorat w/HMG

Here is the latest addition to my Morat Aggression Force army. This dude is always one of my go to troops in game so I thought he deserved a paintjob after taking to the field as a silver monstrosity one too many times.

I am very happy with how he turned out. Most of my Morats are fairly colorful, but I wanted this guy to look darker and little more ominous as is fitting for the most elite regiment in the army.

I'll have to snap a group pic of these guys after I finish the next one.

Infinity: Yaogat Strike team leader

Wow! way too long without a post! Shame on me! Hobby time has been cut severely short as of late, and my poor blog suffers for it.
I was a big fat failure on the 15 day challenge from my last post, and only made it 8 days in. I made a ton of progress on a myriad of projects,  but just couldnt hold it together for the whole term.
Next time I take that on I may shoot for a ten day stint. Seems a little more doable, dont ya think?

I have done a few hobby things since then and even finished a figure for a contest on the new(ish) Infinity podcast, MAYACAST.
It is a great little show to listen to while you paint, by the way.

I hadn't planned to enter the contest until the ribbing of my buddies got to me, and I busted out the fig in 5 hours straight! Might be a new record for me.
After all was said and done, I didnt win the contest, as there were a ton of stellar entries but it's always awesome to have that kind of turn out for a painting contest!

Here is my Yaogat strike leader. Sorry for the garbage pics. My phone did an update, went crazy and now it does everything awfully, including taking pictures. :(

And a bunch of WIP's as I went along.

On the bench

Lately it seems I have started a lot of projects but really dont have anything finished to show as of yet. So, I thought an "on the bench" post was in order!

It seems with the release of the all new card decks for Dark Age, my interest in the game has been rekindled. I have gotten a few games in and started work on the figs again. I really, really love painting these figures but couldn't get much oomph to do so when the game was not drawing my attention.

Here is what I have been working on.

Now, with all of this Dark Age craziness abound, Wild West Exodus was not to be forgotten.
Just some basecoats and washes on this guy for now. I plan to ramp up on him over the coming days.

Last but definitely not least, is my Yaogat strike force leader for my Morat aggression sectorial army.

I always have one Infinity fig in the works. Only one though, because if I were to try and assembly line paint these tiny, detailed little buggers, my eyes might just melt right out of my skull.

Thanks for taking a look! Let me know what you think or what changes you might add to these!

Infinity: Morat, Kurgat Engineer

I have been working on this guy for far too long now. I got to the point where I was afraid to screw him up, so I put him down and didnt touch him again for another 4 to 5 months!

Well, as you can see, I finally got the gumption to just bust out the last bits on him.

The red on this guy was a bit of an experiment, where I based with more of a purple color and shaded with almost black and then worked up with the reds. I really liked how it turned out, so I think I'll stick with the recipe for a while.

Thanks for taking a look!
