On the bench

Well, I thought I'd show off some of the stuff that I have been working on. Mainly to show that I have not been totally idle, and to give a heads up on what to (hopefully) expect completed in the near future. Now, this doesn't always hold true for me, as occasionally something new and shiny will catch my eye, and I start and finish that before anything else gets a second look. I'm trying to hold off that temptation right now with the Black clad Wayfarer I got for Christmas. Anyway here is my recent progress.

Kaya the Wildborne.

Just finished this little chicky up a night or 2 ago. I'm really not very happy with her but, she was so hard to paint being absolutely tiny and all. So, I just had to let her be at some point. Anyway I decided to try and snap some pics with a backdrop of my Jungle terrain. Perhaps it will make them a little less boring than just the plain old black background. 

The final Hydra

This is the last of my 3 Hydra warriors for my Mid-Nors. I'm sad to see them all done but I guess there are many, many more things to move onto. This guy actually had to be converted using a soldier of the plains shield arm. He was originally carrying a sword but I lost it when I moved last may. Ah well, I think I actually like this better, and it gave me a chance to try a freehand Mid-Nor symbol.

Heres the first fig of many to be finished in 2011. This guy was not quite as enjoyable to paint as my other middies but still cool nonetheless. A buddy of mine gave me the idea for the striped pants, and I  was really happy with how they came out!

MERCS CCC Heavy Assault.

I just finished up my first M.E.R.C.S. fig. I really struggled with him as I always seem to do with Sci-Fi figs for some reason. I had originally planned to do a red white and blue color scheme on my squad but just sort of went on a whim with the bright orange. Overall I like how he turned out (even though my pics are garbage.) Next up will be the Medic of my little group.
So, here he is basically start to finish. (or finish to start :)

Completion!

Well I got Terminus all finished up finally. I do feel like I rushed a few of the less noticeable details towards the end......but thats what I always do towards the end of a big model such as this.

Alexia.

After having her half way done for a very long time, I decided to finish up Alexia once and for all. I struggled with her sword and Im not happy at all with how it turned out. I may have to go back and re visit it some time. The Witchfire blade deserves a spectacular paint job after all.

And, heres a shot with Alexia and the Risen I have finished for her up to this point. Hopefully I'll get the motivation to finish the rest and a few Warrior thralls someday.
